Farm Bureau and leaders from Mississippi agricultural associations recently welcomed United States Congressman-Elect Michael Guest to Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation headquarters for a briefing on current federal agriculture policy issues.

Discussions focused on the 2018 Farm Bill, agricultural labor, trade-related matters, regulatory reform efforts, and issues impacting the Mississippi livestock industry.

“We are excited about working with Congressman-Elect Guest,” MFBF President Mike McCormick said. “He’s already been great to work with and has expressed a strong commitment to make sure his district’s Ag interests are represented well in Congress. We wish him the best as he takes office very soon.”

Agricultural associations who also welcomed Guest to the briefing included the Mississippi Poultry Association, Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association, Mississippi Forestry Association, Mississippi Loggers Association, Mississippi Nursery and Landscape Association, and the Catfish Farmers of Mississippi.
