Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation recently hosted American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall and United States Department of Agriculture Under Secretary Greg Ibach for several meetings.

While in Mississippi, Duvall and Ibach participated in a Mississippi agriculture association, government and industry round table, where members of the agriculture industry from across the state discussed key issues impacting them.

“We are so excited Zippy and Greg could travel to Mississippi at the same time,” MFBF President Mike McCormick said. “We are proud to provide members of the agriculture industry an avenue to bring the issues they are facing to those who can help with them. I believe the round table went well and everyone left more knowledgeable.”

In addition to meeting with agriculture industry representatives, Duvall and Ibach met with U.S. Congressman Michael Guest, Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, Sanderson Farms Director of Development and Engineering Pic Billingsley,  and Mississippi Poultry Association President Mark Leggett.

Before leaving Mississippi, Duvall also attended and spoke during the 2019 MFBF Resolutions Committee meeting.

“Visiting with our members is one of the best parts of my job,” Duvall said. “I’ve enjoyed getting to hear more about what’s going on in Mississippi the last few days.”
