The Young Farmer Discussion Meet is a round table discussion of a predetermined topic rather than a debate. The three fundamental bases of general discussion are constructive criticism, cooperation, and communication. With this in mind, the participants’ responsibility is to exchange ideas and information in an effort to solve a problem. It gives the contestants valuable experience in communicating in a small group setting. Two contestants from each district will compete in this competition that is held every year during the Mississippi Farm Bureau Annual Meeting.
