On March 15-17, members of the MFBF F.A.R.M. fund PAC Governing Committee traveled to Washington, D.C., to participate in a series of meetings and visits with agriculture policy makers.

PAC Governing Committee members who attended the trip were: Dan Bishop (Lee Coounty), Jon Koehler Bibb (Tunica County), Lonnie Fortner (Claiborne County), Janet Parker (Covington County), Brian Rhodes (Rankin County), and J.B. Brown (Stone County).

“This was the the PAC board’s first visit to Washington, D.C. since the beginning of the pandemic,” said Justin Ferguson, MFBF National Affairs Coordinator. “The goal of the trip was to show our support for our friends in Congress, engage ag policy leaders on key issues, and determine the timeline for the next farm bill.”

PAC Governing Committee members met with U.S. Congressman David Scott (D-GA), Chair of the House Agriculture Committee; U.S. Congressman G.T. Thompson (R-PA), Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Committee; and senior staff for the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee.
