Members of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation Farm Bill Committee recently held a meeting in Jackson to discuss various priorities for upcoming Farm Bill discussions.
U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee Minority Staff Director Fitz Elder briefed the committee on current timelines and policy matters related to the next discussion on the farm bill. Then, members shared the priorities from their respective commodity committees and affiliate commodity organizations.
“This farm bill discussion was very productive,” MFBF President Mike McCormick said. “These recommendations will guide us as we begin farm bill conversations with AFBF and on Congressional Delegation.”
The Farm Bill Committee recommendations will be presented to the MFBF State Board of Directors later this month.
