Jeff Easterling, of Pearl River County, was elected to his first term as the South Mississippi Vice President during the 2022 Annual Convention in December. In this role, Easterling will serve as the liaison between the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation state office and the county Farm Bureaus in south Mississippi.
Easterling hopes to help MFBF expand its programs for members who have graduated from the Young Farmers & Ranchers program.
“I fall right in the middle of the age bracket – between the older people and younger people in this organization,” Easterling says. “I have relationships on both sides. I want to bridge that gap. It’s going to be detrimental to this organization and the agriculture industry if we don’t start getting the young people and the people my age more involved. I want to make sure we are just as vital in 100 years as we are now.”
Easterling and his family own and operate a stocker cattle and row crop operation. He also serves as the pastor of The Barn Church in Poplarville.
