First-Generation Farm Family Wins 2025 YF&R Achievement Award

Hayden and Emily West of Greene County have been named the 2025 Young Farmers & Ranchers Achievement Award winners, recognized for building a thriving first-generation farm while raising their four children. Their operation spans cattle, poultry houses, hayfields, and more—kept running through determination, long days, and a commitment to keeping family at the center.

With no land or family operation to inherit, the Wests relied on hard work, faith, and the support of mentors they met through Young Farmers & Ranchers programs. Now, at just 28 years old, they credit Farm Bureau with helping them grow as producers and leaders.
