Crow Earns Extension Research Award for Impactful Ag Innovation

Dr. Whitney Crow, Mississippi State University Extension entomologist and associate professor, has been honored with the 2025 Extension Research Award. A former FFA student who grew up around agriculture through her father’s work in boll weevil eradication, Dr. Crow now leads research that helps Mississippi farmers manage pests, weeds, and diseases in row-crop systems.

Her work focuses on practical, economically driven solutions, developed in partnership with crop consultants, agents, and producers statewide. Beyond research, she is deeply committed to education—teaching future specialists, hosting field days and workshops, and sharing timely insight through blogs and podcasts. Dr. Crow’s dedication to improving pest management and strengthening agricultural knowledge makes her a deserving recipient of this year’s award.
