Leading by Example: Jim and Kay Perkins Celebrated for Exceptional Leadership

Jim and Kay Perkins of Tishomingo County have been named the 2025 Excellence in Leadership Award winners. Their nearly 50-year commitment to Farm Bureau began with a single invitation for Jim to attend a county meeting—an invitation that ultimately led him to serve as county president and later as a member of the MFBF Board of Directors.

Kay has been equally devoted, serving as County Women’s Chair and a longtime volunteer for Ag in the Classroom, educating youth about Mississippi agriculture. Together, they raised ten children and now have 18 grandchildren who have grown up immersed in Farm Bureau activities and agricultural values.

The Perkins family’s leadership, mentorship, and service have left a lasting impact on their county, their community, and the state of Mississippi.
