Voice of Mississippi Agriculture

The Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation recently began its beef and pork raffle, benefiting Farm Families of Mississippi. Raffle tickets can be purchased from any County Farm Bureau, and cost $5 each. The last day to purchase a raffle ticket is Friday, March 26, 2021.

Each year, MFBF purchases livestock from the Dixie National Sale of Junior Champions. The organization then holds a raffle for four packages of assorted cuts of meat from the livestock they purchased.

“The beef and pork raffle has provided us with another avenue to raise funds for Farm Families of Mississippi, all while supporting the youth of Mississippi,” MFBF President Mike McCormick said.

This year, four raffle winners will be drawn randomly on April 1, 2021. Each winner will receive assorted cuts of a quarter of a market steer and a quarter of a market hog. These prize packages will be delivered to the winners at no charge.

Farm Families of Mississippi was launched in 2010 by the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation and other Mississippi agriculture industry stakeholders to promote the importance of agriculture to the general public. The campaign uses multiple forms of advertising each year to educate those who are not actively engaged in farming.
