MFBF National Affairs Coordinator Justin Ferguson Named “Tater Boy” by MS Sweet Potato Council

The Mississippi Sweet Potato Council awards one individual The Tater Boy each year at its annual meeting in January. Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation’s National Affairs Coordinator Justin Ferguson was recognized as the 2025 Tater Boy by unanimous vote of the Council and was presented the award by Mississippi Sweet Potato Council President Caleb Englert.

“Justin is masterful at his job. He has a passion for being an advocate for agriculture in Mississippi and in Washington D.C. Within the whole ag community, we should all be thankful to have this year’s recipient of the Tater Boy Award to go to bat for us, putting his heart and soul in what he does, with wanting nothing in return but to just see the ag industry here in MS thrive,” said Englert. “He has been an amazing person to work with and even better guy to know. We wanted to spotlight him and his hard work for the Mississippi Sweet Potato industry.”

The Mississippi Sweet Potato Council’s Tater Boy Award goes to a man or woman who plays a vital role in supporting the sweet potato industry and is the Council’s way of saying thank you for the honoree’s hard work.
