Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation marked the end of 2023 by gather membership in central Mississippi for the organization’s 101st state convention December 2nd-4th. Delegates, representing 178,000 member families, elected MFBF’s 2024 Board of Directors.

MFBF President Mike McCormick, of Jefferson County, MFBF’s 10th president, gaveled in the proceedings.

“We’re very proud of our leaders that have gotten us to this point, but it’s very important for us to set the pace for the future to make sure we’re using all the resources our members provide us and do the right thing,” said McCormick. “The right thing is for Farm Bureau to be the voice of agriculture at the State Capitol, at our nation’s Capital and in rural Mississippi. I am looking forward to continuing to do great things with our new board.”

North Mississippi Vice President Donald Gant, of Bolivar County, and Central Mississippi Vice President Ted Kendall IV, of Hinds County, and South Mississippi Vice President Jeff Easterling, of Pearl River County, will continue serving in their roles elected to two year terms in 2022.

Betty Mills, of Montgomery County, was re-elected to serve as the State Women’s Leadership Committee Chair, and Colton McMurry of Forrest County, was chosen to MFBF’s executive leadership team as the State Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee Chair.

Board members from the odd numbered MFBF districts were voted on and elected to serve a two-year term on MFBF’s Board of Directors. Board members from the even numbered MFBF districts will serve the remaining year of their two-year term in 2024.

District 9 – Kenneth Loggins (Montgomery)

District 10 – Kirby Nazary (Leake)

District 11 – Doug Wilkerson (Kemper)

District 12 – Ricky Ruffin (Jasper)

District 13 – Gene Boone (Smith)

District 14 – Scott Cannada (Hinds)

District 15 – Paul Mullins (Simpson)
