Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation members typically gather in Jackson in December for an annual convention to celebrate the organization’s accomplishments for the year and conduct business for the future. This year, due to COVID-19, members were forced to conduct business differently.
One representative from each county attended the 2020 MFBF Annual Business Meeting on December 7 using strict socially distanced guidelines. The rest of MFBF’s annual business was conducted virtually. During the meeting, the 2021 Board of Directors were elected.
MFBF President Mike McCormick, of Jefferson County, was unanimously reelected for his fourth term as MFBF president.
“I am honored to have been reelected to serve as your President for another two years,” McCormick said. “I know this organization will continue to do great things in the future, and I am looking forward to being a part of it, along with our new board.”
North Mississippi Vice President Donald Gant, of Bolivar County, and Central Mississippi Vice President Ted Kendall IV, of Hinds County, were reelected to their positions. Robert Earl McGehee, of Lincoln County, was elected South Mississippi Vice President.
Betty Mills, of Montgomery County, will continue to serve as the State Women’s Leadership Committee chair, and Matt Hammons, of Smith County, will serve as the State Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee chair.
