Jana Everett, the MFBF 2022 Teacher of the Year Jana Everett works as an elementary school teacher at Henderson Ward Steward Elementary in Starkville. Everett was selected due to her efforts to engage her second grade students while integrating agriculture into the Mississippi curriculum standards for gifted education.
Everett is a National Board Certified teacher, and holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mississippi State University and a master’s degree in gifted studies from Mississippi University for Women.
As the MFBF Teacher of the Year, Everett received an expense-paid trip to the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference and a $500 grant to use in her classroom.
